Mark has been collecting discarded hand written text for about 20 years, some of these can be read at http://found-text.markhaddon.net. Recordings of these texts will be played back in the dark. The recordings will be placed in a number of locations and will be triggered by motion sensors. The authors of these discarded texts are unknown. As recordings they are disembodied or spectral. They float free of their original context but simultaneously act as windows into an individual’s private unmediated thoughts.

 

 

Mark Haddon is an artist and designer. He lives and works in Edinburgh. His art practice sometimes follows an unstructured research into our latent potential for experiencing other states of consciousness. Sometimes it doesn’t.
